These lithographs were made with Curwen Studio. Each hand-drawn print employed 2–4 plates, the artwork for each plate was prepared by drawing and painting onto acetate or drafting film, this was then transferred to a photosensitive zinc plate via exposure on a lightbox.
Carry worked with technician Michael Papworth proofing the plates, building them up one layer at a time on the big offset litho machine. The final layer of colour had to pull the whole image together into a harmonious conclusion. At this points she selected the proof that would be the final picture and the technician was left to make an the edition.
